Why Counselling?

If you have found your way to this page you are probably wondering what counselling could do for you.

Life brings adventures and stresses which can be challenging, rewarding, heartbreaking and occasionally overwhelming.  This creates in us ways of thinking, believing and feeling that can be positive or negative and what we think, believe and feel impacts on the things that happen to us.

Recognising this is only helpful when you are able to use it effectively.  By exploring your thoughts, beliefs and feelings you are engaging in an activity which may change the way your life works, or may reconcile you to the way it is.  Whichever, you may find that you are less anxious because you have engaged in the process.

I offer a safe, confidential and non-judgemental environment in which to explore your thoughts, feelings, beliefs and actions.  I do not offer solutions, but together we work to help you to find your own through supportive and creative dialogue.

Many people look to counselling for help in these areas:

  • relationship difficulties

  • work-related stress

  • anxiety

  • depression

  • low self-esteem

  • feelings of marginalisation/alienation
